I use traditional and experimental techniques to depict the earth in untraditional ways. My work is often about time and change – sometimes fast and radical, sometimes a slow evolution.

Series

In the Walnut Zen series walnut husks from a tree on our property collaborates with silk, heat, water and air to create fluid shapes and subtle tones of colour on the cloth.

goingA new series, Going, is a visual journal. Maps of where I've been are overlaid with imagery representing external and/or internal landscapes.

Small Expressions

Kristin curated the show “Elin Noble and Other Strong Women” Fibre art features cloth dyed by Elin Noble. October 10 – November 28, 2009. Penn Cove Pottery, 26184 State Route 20, Coupeville (Whidbey Island) WA.

 

 

"Old Red Sandstone" will be published as one of 1,000 Artisan Textiles. This book is edited by Sandra Salamony and Gina M. Brown and will be published by Quarry Books in May, 2010.
